Sestak says Obama can’t talk him out of a Senate run
If leading Democrats try to push Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7) out of his likely primary race against Senator Arlen Specter, they should take note of one thing—he’s not listening.
Sestak on Thursday told blogger Greg Sargent that not even an appeal from the president himself will sway him.
“No,” Sestak said when asked if the President Obama could talk him out of it. “I think the President said it very well. I have great respect for him. He said that the core mission of the office of the Presidency is to ensure opportunities for everyone. Pennsylvanians should not be foreclosed on who they want. I believe in the bottom of my heart that the President does believe this.
“At the end of the day my responsibility is to [the people] here in Pennsylvania,” Sestak added.

Sestak doesn’t listen to anybody. It appears to be part of the leftover egomania from being a 3-star rear admiral, having his own way and having almost no one to answer to.
While I’m certainly not a supporter of Sestak, I am friends with a great many people who LOVE having Sestak as our Congressman and who are VERY unhappy realizing that the 7th district is now at risk of falling back into GOP hands.
$4 million was spend to get Sestak his seat, and he’s collected an additional $3-$4 million under the pretext of retaining the seat. This money will all be down the drain if Sestak abandons the 7th and we have to start from scratch funding a new candidate to hold a what had become a reliable Dem seat.
This is pure selfishness and not being responsible to Pennsylvania or even the district he claims to love representing.
