Orie says she won’t run against Toomey
State Senator Jane Orie (R-Allegheny) said Monday that she would not run for U.S. Senate next year, removing yet another name from the list of possible GOP challengers to Pat Toomey and making it more likely that Toomey will emerge from the primary largely unscathed.
In a statement, Orie, who had reportedly met with Republican leaders in Washington recently, said the contentious budget negotiations in Harrisburg had to take priority over any political ambitions.
Pennsylvania is at a critical crossroads and facing a dire budget situation,” Orie said. “As this is my first time being in the budget negotiations, I must respect and fulfill my responsibilities to my constituents, the citizens of Pennsylvania and my caucus, who is standing solidly against new taxes. I must put any personal ambitions aside and focus on the crucial task at hand.”

She was going to get bull dozed anyway.
Although, I like her v Melissa Hart.

Right now the only one who has a shot is Toomey … and that depends entirely on the election atmosphere.

And somehow Meehan has remained curiously silent about any run anywhere. He does not have to say anything right now, but he has not formally announced anything either….

Does anyone REALLY believe she was thinking of running?
To me, it’s a cheap way of getting her sister’s name out for Supreme Court. Jane Orie/Joan Orie doesn’t make a lick of difference to people in NEPA.

Jane is the most reliable conservative in the state…. And she can win. Unlike hopeless toomie… Too bad she left the race
