Lentz headed to the White House Monday
State Representative Bryan Lentz (D-Delaware) will get a nice photo-op Monday, when he joins “select group” of energy policy leaders at the White House to discuss policy with Obama administration officials.
Lentz’s office announced his invitation to the White House Friday morning, though few details were provided. Regardless, it will be a chance for the 7th Congressional District hopeful to showcase his environmental bonafides ahead of next year’s primary.
“This is an excellent opportunity to represent Pennsylvania and Delaware county at the White House in a important discussion about job creation, the environment and national security as they relate to our nation’s energy future,” Lentz said in a statement.
Lentz is the sole Democratic candidate to say he is definitely running to succeed Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7), but state Representative Greg Vitali (D-Delaware) may also enter the race. With former U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan almost definitely running for the Republican nomination, it is expected to be one of the most competitive House races in the country.

Pat Meehan has to announce ASAP. Momentum is slowing, no money being raised, and Welch has not walked. He’d better kick start that engine and get going….Right now.

This rush to announce early is bogus.
Sestak sailed into Delaware county in Feb 2006 out of the blue, and pushed out the other two primary challengers.
Welsh won’t even get the nomination or signatures to be on the ballot if Tommy Judge doesn’t sign off on it. The Delco GOP runs a pretty tight ship that way. The candidates typically get picked in old-style backroom politics, and the sheep follow the leaders.
