Schroder brings on the consultants

Schroder brings on the consultants

State Representative Curt Schroder (R-Chester) has made the first major hires of his Congressional campaign, retaining a pair of political consulting firms to handle direct mail and media.

On the same day the campaign announced the launching of its new Web site, it also said Tuesday that it had hired Mike Long’s Harrisburg firm to handle direct mail. Long has been largely credited with helping Republicans keep control of the state Senate during difficult election cycles for the GOP.

The Strategy Group for Media, an Ohio-based firm that has worked for clients including Ron Paul and Joe Pitts, will run the campaign’s advertising and media placement.

Schroder is running to replace Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-6), who is seeking the party’s nomination for governor. Chester County Recorder of Deeds is also running in the primary against Schroder.

    Doubtful “Schrod-man.”

Both will need to raise money to gain leadership support, and both have yet to prove they can. Whoever can raise the most will likely gain the endorsement.

Schroder is certainly qualified for the seat, but he doesn’t fit the mold of the district because he is practically the posterboy for the conservatives in Chester County. The PA-6 has proven itself to be a centrist/moderate district, and Curt Schroder is too far to the right.

Ryan Costello, on the other hand, is a better fit. As I said before, he is a young, energetic, fresh face for our Party.

Schroder is a hypocrite. And, it looks like this is one more sign that Mike Long doesn’t have to worry about being indicted by Corbett for his role in bonusgate.
