Pike says he’s got $750K on hand

Democrat Doug Pike’s campaign said Friday that the campaign would end the third quarter reporting $750,000 in cash on hand.

That total includes more than $123,000 raised from individual donors over the last three months, the campaign said. But it remains unclear if Pike, who has already given his 6th Congressional District campaign more than half-a-million dollars, cut more checks last quarter.

The campaign had about $630,000 on hand at the end of last quarter, according to campaign finance data. Presumably, unless the campaign spent very lightly over the last three months, there would have to be more money in the pipeline to finish with the $750,000 on hand.

Complete campaign finance reports won’t be published for a couple weeks.

Pike is running against Manan Trivedi in next year’s primary. Trivedi said his campaign raised $110,000 in just the three weeks since he declared his candidacy last month.

These numbers do seem to be a little off. They obviously aren’t good numbers if he’s not giving specifics on where it has come from (ie his own pocket). I’ll be interested to see if he can keep up with the fundraising ability that Trivedi seems to have.

To match the donations of a 3 month candidate in 3 weeks is beyond impressive and if Pike can’t keep up with that and if he is just going to run a self-funded campaign, he has a long road ahead.

Looks to me like Trivedi has the long road. Pike seems to have outraised him and has a seven to one cash on hand advantage!

Does it county when you inherit your money and then contribute it to your own campaign? First, Pike did not earn the money. Second, Pike did not raise the money.

I don’t know what you are all talking about- Pike is going to walk away with this primary. He has a ridiculously high cash on hand, and is by far a better candidate politically (endorsements, labor support, progressive record). Trivedi doesn’t even live in the District! I mean seriously, come on!
