Report: Another GOP candidate in the picture for guv race
The Republican primary for governor may soon get another candidate.
The Post-Gazette reports that state Representative Samuel Rohrer (R-Berks) is thinking of jumping into the race. Rohrer, who has been in the state House since the early 1990s, said he’d make a decision within a few weeks, but that it’s “more likely than not” he’ll run.
“Being in the House as long as I have been … has given me a breadth of experience that is different that the others,” Rohrer told the newspaper. “I have concentrated my time, not solely but significantly, on the financial and economic side of the equation.”
State Attorney General Tom Corbett and Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-6) are the main GOP contenders in the race. Former Army National Guardsman Robert Allen Mansfield is also running.

[...] pa2010.com is reporting that Sam Rohrer is going to throw his hat into the GOP primary for Governor. I’ll be honest, I am a big fan of Rep. Rohrer. He is the sponsor of the Pennsylvania Firearms Freedom Act, and a big fan of the 10th Amendment, and I can’t help but admire a state rep willing to give the proverbial middle finger toward Washington, even if it’s a relatively symbolic one. This go-around, the GOP should stick to the issues. On the issues, Rohrer is clearly the best. Want to cut (i.e. eliminate school property taxes?) – Sam Rorher is the man to do it.

He needed the pay raise to stay in the House and fight for the taxpayer. He needs to get another pay raise to stay in politics and fight for the taxpayer and that means moving up to a higher pay grade because voting himself another pay raise would not be a good idea.

Sam Rohrer is a fiscal and social conservative and that’s what PA needs. He holds high the Constitution as well as family values. We need a pro-business govenor again in PA. Someone who doesn’t pander to the destructive unions. PA has unbelievable energy natural resources; gas, coal and oil. PA alone could be totally self sufficient in energy resources. We need to use these resources to reduce our energy costs both to industry and housholds. The pending cap & trade legislation will kill jobs in PA and significantly raise our electric costs. Why do so many people in Obama’s totally out of control Washington want our manufacturing jobs to go to countries who have no intention to pass their own cap & trade?? PA manufacturing needs to compete on a world scale and we can! With cheap energy, low electricity, manufacturing jobs would come back to PA. PA could be the low cost producer because of what could be a low infrastructure costs. For every manufacturing job created, 8 additional jobs are created in a trickle down effect. Only manufacturing jobs will once again create wealth and a higher standard of living for all Pennsylvanians. So why is the current liberals in power in PA, working with the socialist regime in Washington to further hurt the working middle class, the productive ones who are carrying the load? Why is all the attnetion and wealth transferring to the unproductive? That isn’t sustainable! If the stimulus money continues to pay the non-productive, rather than create new “sustainable” jobs, any economic growth will die when the stimulus money presses stop. Green energy will big very expensive. Green jobs are not sustainable. When the stimulus money going to green energy projects stops, the green fad will die. If cap & trade is passed in any form. the American economy will fall off a cliff. Same with Obamacare. We need to fix the current health care system, not replace it. Open up competition across state lines. Let the entreprenauer spirit free. Government had decades to get the US Postal Service right and failed. Decades to get Medicare and social security right and failed. Government in healthcare is a bad idea and will not work. Government needs to get out of the healthcare business. We need to let free enterprise work. Government has created a failure of our insurance and heathcare systems. Vote our all liberals in both parties in the next elections and let’s get back the highest standard of living in the world that we once had. Sam Roher, I believe is the right choice for PA. He has proven to be a dependable representative of the people. Thank you Sam.

He’s good on a few issues. He may even be the best of the Harrisburg thieves. Too bad he’s an oath-breaker.
Oh, and shifting tax burdens is NOT eliminating taxes, it’s just moving the expense of their special interest handouts on to groups with less political clout.
Give him his new consumption tax and you’ll end up with that AND the property tax.
