Trivedi rolls out his own endorsement list
There are no members of Congress on this list, but Manan Trivedi sought to show Monday that he’s not the only Democrat in the 6th District winning support from the party rank-and-file.
Trivedi, a Reading doctor who is running against former Inquirer editorial writer Doug Pike for the party’s nomination, announced more than a dozen endorsements Monday morning, ranging from local party committee members and county row officers to small-town council members and one mayor.
Pike, who appeared to have a clear field before Trivedi got into the race, still has far more endorsements, especially from organized labor groups, but the announcement from Trivedi’s campaign was one more sign that he is poised to put up a fight.
“Starting the campaign when we did, we knew we were going to have to work twice as hard as everyone else in this race… and it is paying off,” Trivedi said in a campaign statement. “Through our work and through the conversations I have had with leaders within our community, we have been able to build relationships that will prove positive in winning this election but also in building a better future for the district. I am honored to have the support of each and every person who joins us in that effort.”
Democrats endorsing Trivedi include Kutztown Mayor Sandy Green, Plymouth Township Councilman Vince Gillen and Montgomery County Prothonotary Mark Levy. After becoming the first person to withdraw his endorsement from Pike in September, Berks County Recorder of Deeds Fred Sheeler also endorsed Trivedi. The announcement came on the heels of state Senator Daylin Leach’s (D-Montgomery) decision to go neutral in the race last week.

Trivedi Gains Political Weight Over Thanksgiving Holiday
Reading, Pa – Following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Democratic congressional candidate Manan Trivedi had a lot to be grateful for as the campaign released the names of new endorsers from various elected, party and community leaders. These 16 endorsements represent support from across Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties.
Leading off this post holiday round of endorsements is Montgomery County Prothonotary, Mark Levy.
“Manan is authentic,” said Levy. “He has a firm understanding of what this district needs because he was born and raised here. And because of those roots, Manan reflects and relates to the people of this region.”
Manan Trivedi launched his campaign for the 6th district in September of this year following his departure from the U.S. Navy. Quickly he began to meet with leaders from throughout the district to share his life story and his vision for the region. As a result, those leaders have been offering their support to his campaign.
“Starting the campaign when we did, we knew we were going to have to work twice as hard as everyone else in this race . . . and it is paying off,” said Trivedi. “Through our work and through the conversations I have had with leaders within our community, we have been able to build relationships that will prove positive in winning this election but also in building a better future for the district. I am honored to have the support of each and every person who joins us in that effort.”

It’s fair to say Trivedi earned these endorsements. They were not bestowed upon him the day he announced his candidacy. And I believe that’s the message Trivedi is pushing with this release. Trivedi didn’t have the trust fund and ready-made endorsements to launch a campaign one day. He started with very little money and support, but through hard work he has made this primary into a race. The very mechanics of Trivedi’s campaign could have an impression upon voters. Nothing came easy for him.

Go figure it’s Brian Kline again commenting on Trivedi. You are totally impartial. Come on, what’s your tie to the campaign?

It’s sad to see Trivedi campaign and supporters spreading false claims of an imaginary trust fund.
Dan, this is easy enough to disprove by getting the house ethics filings for Doug Pike to show there is no trust fund. Will you do some reporting on this claim so people will stop using your site to just spread false rumors?

Come on Pike Supporters

Trust fund-Daddy’s connections to get Pike on a NY hospital’s board of directors-Daddy’s money all the same thing. A congressional staffer and a Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News editorial assistant’s salary does not equate to the amount of money that Pike is outting into his campaign.
Come on stop twisitng words-this isn’t the front page of some Philly or New York tabloid rag-it’s Montco, Chester, Berks and Lehigh county. The voters have a right to know where Pike got his money.
