O’Brien says he’s raised $200K
Lackawanna County Commissioner Corey O’Brien said Tuesday that his congressional campaign had raised more than $200,000 last year, finishing 2009 with about $110,000 in cash on hand.
O’Brien, who is challenging Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-11) in the May primary, has already started airing a campaign commercial on local cable stations. His campaign disclosed its fourth-quarter fundraising numbers ahead of the FEC filing deadline at the end of this month, and again sought to draw a Wall Street-Main Street contrast between incumbent and challenger.
“Fundraising reports say a lot about who is supporting a candidate,” O’Brien said in a statement. “I am proud to have the support of over 350 individuals from right here on Main Street. Unfortunately, my opponent continues to fund his campaign with special interest money from his friends on Wall Street. Nobody believes that he can regulate Wall Street when he has taken more money from the finance and credit industries than any other Democrat in the House.”

Would those 350 people be county vendors or their subcontractors?

@lackawannawonderful
Kanjo had what, 3 contributors in the district? Two of them were husband and wife. The rest of his money is from Manhattan. Shameful.
