Sestak has $5.1M on hand
Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7) raised more than $650,000 during the last three months of 2009, and finished the year with more than $5.1 million in cash on hand, a campaign aide confirmed.
Sestak has spent lightly, gradually narrowing what remains a significant fundraising gap between him and Senator Arlen Specter, who has about $8.6 million on hand.
For his primary challenge, the aide said, Sestak now has more cash than 1992 Democratic candidate Lynn Yeakel.

Joe being tight with a buck? I guess thats why he reserved the IBEW Hall and then cancelled on them to save the money.
We’re going to find out in his expenditures. I also have been hearing he spends alot on his relatives. I guess were going to find out if hes been “tight w the buck” on them like he has been other staffers.

What’s wrong with this statement?…..
“For his primary challenge, the aide said, Sestak now has more cash than 1992 Democratic candidate Lynn Yeakel.”
1) No correction for inflation.
2) No correction for changes to campaign finance limits.
3) No correction for population (ie. number of voters/donors available)
4) No correction for the political makeup of the electorate.
5) No indication what point in Yeakel campaign this is.
6) No valid analogy since
a) Lynn Yeakel faced Specter in a General election, not a Democratic primary.
b) Lynn Yeakel had never held public office
c) Lynn Yeakel has one more X-chromosome than Sestak.
7) Does Sestak also has more money than Specter did in 1992?
Whenever I read statements from Sestak’s aides, I’m reminded of the expression: dumb as a box of rocks.

THE GATEKEEPERS OF THIS WEB SITE DELETED MY COMMENTS ABOUT SPECTER AND TOOMEY VOTING TO REPEAL THE GLASS STEAGALL ACT IN 1999, AN ACTION THAT RUINED OUR BANKING SYSTEM. WHY IS PA2010.C0M AN UNDEMOCRATIC SITE? WHO CONTROLS IT? LET’S HEAR FROM DIANO AND OTHERS ON THIS.

Dan-
Do you know how much of this is available for the Primary vs the General election?
Breakdown for both candidates would put more context to these numbers.

$5.1. million that the Democratic Party sorely needs. There are far more viable Democratic candidacies in PA at present. But of course, Representative Sestak’s primary aim is to satisfy his already inflated ego – not to bolster progressive causes.
