Prominent GOP consultants working for Trevorrow in 3rd District

Republican Tom Trevorrow unveiled a consulting team Monday that includes some of the party’s top operatives in Pennsylvania, raising the ante on his primary bid to take on Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper (D-3).

Trevorrow, an Erie ophthalmologist, only announced his candidacy last week—and loaned the campaign $150,000 even before getting into the race. His campaign showed Monday morning what that money can buy.

John Brabender of BrabenderCox, whose clients include presumptive GOP gubernatorial nominee Tom Corbett, will serve as Trevorrow’s media consultant. Jon Lerner will be the campaign pollster. Lerner is a strategist and pollster for Pat Toomey’s Senate campaign. By snagging them both, Trevorrow has effectively acquired a consulting team that will be looking at the state from the top of the party’s ticket.

“I am committed to winning this race and bringing real change to Washington so that I can help fix a broken system of government,” Trevorrow said in a statement. “I am pleased that John Brabender and Jon Lerner have agreed to join the campaign. They bring a wealth of experience in Pennsylvania politics and a winning track record to my campaign.”

Several Republicans are seeking the chance to unseat Dahlkemper, in a primary that the party seems poised to let play out without choosing a favored candidate. Businessman Paul Huber has also loaned his campaign $150,000 and car dealer Mike Kelly recently entered the race to nods of approval from some GOP insiders. Steven Fisher, Elaine Surma, Ed Franz and Clayton Grabb are also running.

Between Lerner and Brabender, This guy will be broke by May. They will suck him dry.

I love these self funding candidates that Brabender and Lerner prey on so stupid to fall into their trap.

I don’t think money is an issue for him.
