Barletta camp says he started it all on immigration
A day after a judge struck down key components of Arizona’s controversial immigration law, Republican Lou Barletta was claiming credit for sparking a “national movement” of local and state governments taking immigration enforcement into their own hands.
In a new campaign Web video, the 11th District congressional hopeful hearkened back to the tough immigration ordinance he enacted as mayor of Hazleton in 2006. A federal judge later struck down that law.
“When the federal government failed us,” the video says, “who stood up and started a national movement?”
Barletta faces Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-11) for the third time in eight years. The race is currently No. 2 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

The signpost up ahead says, “Next stop. The Twilight Zone.” These laws continue to be shot down because they violate the constitution. And Lou’s bragging about it. Apparently his oath to protect and defend the constitution means nothing.
