DCCC ad buys include four Pa. incumbents
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s first major slate of ad buys for November will help boost four Pennsylvania incumbents.
Politico reports that the DCCC is set to deploy the significant cash advantage it enjoys over it’s GOP counterpart by snatching up TV time in 40 districts across the country. Among the Democrats first in line for help from Washington are 3rd District Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, along with Chris Carney in the 10th District, Paul Kanjorski in the 11th District and Mark Critz in the 12th District.
The size of the ad buys in the individual districts remains to be seen.

How much are they devoting to challengers in Republican districts? Looks like they have their hands full while playing defense, with little left over for guys like Callahan in the 15th Dist.

Dear DCCC,
I would like to inform you of a mistake that was made in the purchase of your advertising space. It appears that you left off my race here in the 7th District on your list! While I’m sure you’re deeply embarrassed by your oversight, I’d ask that it be corrected immediately lest anyone get the impression that between my atrocious poll numbers and my anemic fundraising you have written my campaign off as unwinnable and therefore unworthy of your resources.
Thank you for your attention,
Byron Lentz

Byron! Get a ahold of yourself. You know the DCCC is going to pour at least $2.5 million into the race. When you couple DCCC funds with the Al Franken money bomb, granola Swarthmore interns and the intimidating fleet of Priuses on hand I believe there is little to worry about.

Dear Former Campaign Manager,
As most everyone this side of Moscow knows, the plural form of “Prius” is “Priusi”.
I hope your life under the bus is full of fulfillment.
Your bestest,

Byron and Vinny,
As a member of the widely heralded Oxman Corp. it is my recommendation that further polling, media market analysis and consulting be conducted to ensure campaign funds are used as effectively and efficiently as possible. These ventures can be completed in as little as one week with little effort on our part. It is my understanding that cuts to your staff’s salary and benefits must be made immediately in order to acquire the necessary funds for these projects. I fully support these actions and reject any notion that your paid staff or interns can competently complete the projects that our corporation has been billing for. If you have any concerns related to our proposal I can be contacted poolside at the club, drinking umbrella clad fruity drinks and admiring the new Pruis your campaign just bought me. I look forward to a long and profitable relationship.
Your friend,
The Oxman Corp.

As Byron’s grandfather, senior adviser and veteran of two world wars I recommend all DCCC funds be directed to the Oxman Corp. The interweb and color television is now being used by many of my peers to buy their prescription drugs and hot water bottles. These mediums can be used by the Oxman Corp to advertise my grandson’s campaign and win voters.

I completely agree with Swarthmore Dem! Writing on this blog from my mom’s basement is wonderful and we should not tolerate this literary diarrhea. This type of abuse makes eating Mom’s Hotpockets almost intolerable!

No need to take ourselves too seriously and ban commenters who choose to write humorously. But, in case anyone didn’t realize it, many of the above comments using fictitous names similar to real ones are written in jest.
